Creating moments guests want to return to.

Creating moments guests want to return to.

THE CASE FOR CONNECTION

The most memorable events engage more than the senses. They create an emotional connection. Whether guests feel nostalgic, curious, celebrated, surprised, or part of a larger story, my goal is to create moments they want to experience again and share with others.

That emotional connection builds loyalty. Guests return for future concepts, bring friends and family, and begin to feel personally invested in the success of the business.

01 / DESIGNING FOR EMOTION

More Than a Theme

More Than a Theme

An experiential event should never feel like decorations placed around a room. Every concept begins with the emotion I want guests to feel. From there, I develop the story, environment, music, lighting, menu, service style, and interactive details that bring that emotion to life.

“Guests may forget every detail, but they remember how the experience made them feel.”

02 / ENGAGING EVERY SENSE

Designing an atmosphere guests can feel.

Designing an atmosphere guests can feel.

Sight

Intentional décor, lighting, menus, uniforms, signage, glassware, and presentation establish the story before a guest takes their first sip.

Sound

Music, ambient sound, entertainment, and the energy of the room help transport guests into the experience.

Taste

Cocktails, food, welcome drinks, tastings, and specialty menus reinforce the theme through flavor.

Touch

Interactive elements, custom glassware, keepsakes, games, menus, and hands-on activities give guests a physical connection to the event.

Emotion

Emotion

Nostalgia, wonder, belonging, celebration, and discovery are what transform a successful event into a lasting memory.

03 / BUILDING THE GUEST JOURNEY

From First Impression to Final Memory

From First Impression to Final Memory

01 / Discovery

Marketing should clearly communicate the feeling and value of the event.

02 / Reservation or Arrival

The purchasing and arrival process should be simple, welcoming, and organized.

03 / First Impression

Guests should understand the story within moments of entering the space.

04 / Participation

Interactive details help guests feel like part of the experience rather than observers.

05 / Service

The team must understand its role, the event story, timing, menu, and guest expectations.

06 / Departure

The final interaction, keepsake, photograph, or farewell should reinforce the memory.

07 / Return

The strongest measure of success is when guests ask what is coming next before the current experience is over.

The Details Guests Never See

The Details Guests Never See

04 / PREPARATION CREATES THE MAGIC

04 / PREPARATION CREATES THE MAGIC

Immersive events may feel effortless to the guest, but that experience is built through careful preparation. I approach each event by placing myself in the guest’s shoes from beginning to end and identifying every point where confusion, delay, disappointment, or missed opportunity could occur.

• Build clear timelines, budgets, task lists, and ownership.
• Confirm pricing, recipes, ordering, inventory, equipment, staffing, and vendor responsibilities.
• Test every part of the guest journey before opening.
• Create backup plans for weather, attendance changes, product shortages, and operational challenges.
• Communicate expectations clearly so every team member understands both their task and its purpose.
• Protect the small details because those are often what guests remember most.

05 / PREPARING THE TEAM

Every Team Member Is Part of the Story

Every Team Member Is Part of the Story

The guest experience is only as strong as the team delivering it. Before each event, I communicate the vision, service expectations, timing, guest journey, menu, responsibilities, and potential challenges. When people understand not only what to do, but why it matters, they become confident participants in the experience.

“The team should never feel like they are working around the event. They should feel like they are helping bring it to life.”

SELECTED MOMENTS / BUILT FOR RETURN

SELECTED MOMENTS / BUILT FOR RETURN

This is just a small snapshot of the experiences we've created over the past few years. Every event was built with a purpose—to give guests something worth talking about while helping the business grow through stronger brand awareness, social media engagement, increased food and beverage sales, meaningful supplier partnerships, and guests who couldn't wait to come back for the next experience.

Knob Creek Carnivore Dinner

Whisper Mill Speakeasy

A sold-out launch for our Knob Creek Single Barrel Select, pairing a five-course family-style dinner with cocktails, guided bourbon education, branded merchandise, and a take-home bottle from our private barrel.

Sold out before the event.

A bottle release became an intimate story guests could taste, share, and take home.

Seasonal Craft Nights

14 Mill Market Dining Room

Recurring all-ages workshops brought community into the food hall during slower periods. Seasonal crafts and approachable activities naturally introduced families to the surrounding bar and kitchens.

Low-cost programming with additional food and beverage sales.

Community-focused events created reliable traffic and gave families another reason to return.

Regional Bartender Competition

14 Mill Market

A supplier-supported bartender competition introduced a new hospitality-industry audience to the food hall and elevated the visibility of the bar. The relationships formed became an area bartender community with annual events and collaborative dinners.

New audience acquisition and long-term industry relationships.

One event became the foundation for a lasting regional hospitality community.

Camp Margarita

14 Mill Market Turf

A large-format Hornitos Tequila activation for more than 100 guests, with themed cocktails, games, music, and interactive entertainment. Our bartenders became camp counselors, guiding guests through a fully developed summer-camp world.

100+ guests and high-volume outdoor service.

Immersive storytelling, supplier support, and strategic planning turned an ordinary afternoon into a destination event.

Seasonal Immersive Pop-Ups

14 Mill Market Turf

Seasonal concepts transformed the speakeasy into entirely new worlds. For Halloween, a haunted walkthrough layered themed cocktails, costumes, music, interactive activities, and guest participation.

Designed to drive traffic, beverage revenue, and repeat visitation.

Each concept gave guests a new destination to explore rather than simply a decorated room.

Recurring Trivia and Game Nights

14 Mill Market

Monthly trivia, bingo, karaoke, and themed game nights created consistent reasons to visit during slower periods. The programming stayed simple to operate and required minimal additional expense.

Low operating cost with strong food and beverage return.

Predictable recurring programming supported guest loyalty while maximizing revenue across the property.

A property-wide festival built with restaurant partners. Guests explored food, cocktail pairings, performances, and activities inspired by cultures around the world while collecting stamps in an event passport.

Experiential events are not only creative projects. When thoughtfully planned, they drive reservations, increase average guest spending, introduce new visitors to the property, create supplier opportunities, generate repeat business, and strengthen the overall brand.

Value Beyond Ticket Sales

Value Beyond Ticket Sales

Guest Loyalty

Guests who feel connected to the experience become more than customers. They return for future concepts, invite others, share their experiences, and begin to feel part of the business’s story.

Property-Wide Impact

Many event guests were visiting the property for the first time. Their exposure extended beyond the event itself, introducing them to the wider business and supporting overall traffic, awareness, and profitability.

CREATING A REASON TO RETURN

The event ends. The connection should not.

The event ends. The connection should not.

My goal has never been simply to host an event. It’s to create experiences that make guests feel something, give them a story to share, and leave them excited for what’s next.

When thoughtful preparation, storytelling, operational excellence, and genuine hospitality come together, an event becomes more than a single night. It becomes part of the guest’s relationship with the brand—and the reason they return.

“The most memorable experiences don’t end when guests leave. They become the reason they return.”
